This year in Kindergarten, students will have a formal homework assignment in the form of a READ-O. Please look for this assignment in your child's family folder at the beginning of each month. Furthermore, all READ-O's are DUE back to Mrs. Bunyan by the date indicated on the READ-O assignment (at the end of the month). The goal of the READ-O is to complete 1 square each night with your child, and to complete as many (bingos/reados) by the end of the month as possible! Please initial or color in the squares as you complete them!
This homework is meant to be fun for you and your child and not overwhelming to any of our little ones! Please see me if you have questions or concerns. In addition to the READ-O, please be working on the following skills with your child :)
Our students need to be practicing:
-Holding pencils, scissors, crayons, etc. correctly
-Writing first and last name
-Spelling first and last name
-Identifying/Naming lowercase and uppercase letters
-Identifying/Naming matching letters
-Identifying/Naming letter sounds
-Writing and Identifying Numbers 1-20
-Counting sets of objects with up to 10 objects in each set
-Identifying sight words from the baseball, football, & soccer word lists (see the sight words tab)
-Spelling and writing sight words from the baseball, football, & soccer word lists
-Tying shoes

Thank you for working with your little learners and practicing at home in order to help your child make the best growth they can this school year!
